Post subject:  Greenfield Village's "Edison"

In the Nov 3rd article about Greenfield Village Railroad Days, Bob Yarger noted that the Edison 4-4-0 had recieved a new steel cab and electric headlight. Indeed the steel cab is a relatively new addition. It was added around 1997 to replace the old ,yet sturdily built, wooden one. The electric headlight was added this summer after the Edison ran into a tree that was reportedly falling onto the tracks during a bad storm. Fortunately the only damage was the headlight ,which looked as if someone took a baseball bat to it, and a slight bend to the uncoupling lever. Therefore a new headlight had to be added, bringing the electric one into play.<br>
