Pretty sure this is from the "Precursor" class built c. 1904- a very successful engine of the time, heavily utilized with different trains.

Broad Street station was "modernised" into an office block in the 1980's - this is called Broadgate. The only time I paid a visit to Broad Street was the late 1970's when there was a very sparse EMU service and it was obvious that the end was near.

I'm not 100% certain that the locomotive is a Precursor as there were some rebuilds of earlier Webb designs using Precursor boilers. Numbers, unless you have a list, are no clue because the LNWR just filled in the gaps - like the Pennsylvania did.
