Ex- CB&Q 2-8-2 tender behind one of the ex-GTW 0-8-0s at the Sterling, Illinois steel mill. Just wondering if it survived? Reason for asking is that Grand Canyon Ry. scrapped the original Q tender from 2-8-2 4960 a few years ago.

I do believe that it would take a lot more than just a tender to return the 4960 to its original CB&Q look. The Grand Canyon crew did a great job of rebuilding the 4960 and she certainly has run well over the past couple of years. But the CB&Q look was certainly not something it seems they wanted on that engine.
