I am pleased to announce that the Tidewater Southern bunk car, TS 0565-H, ex-WP and once used as the Escalon Freight Office, has been safely moved to the Portola Railroad Museum for preservation.

TS 0565-H was donated by Sacramento resident Ted Mitchell and its movement was funded by generous donations from many WP and TS fans. Plans are being worked out to return the car to operation in the spring and eventually to restore it to its TS service condition.

Donations are still being accepted to help defray the cost of movement. Due to the complexity of pulling the car from its long-time resting place, the costs exceeded the funds raised.
