I am interested in a wide range of traction and electric railway preservation. As we know this museum has had a rough time in recent years.

So it was with some considerable pleasure that I read the last several museum newsletters on their web site today.

Some good work is going on: PVC laden transformers have been removed and replaced, the museum can make DC power again. Track work is under way to bring the line back to Class 2 condition.
Halloween Ghost Trollys were discussed. Does anyone know if the operation came off?

I have no direct connection with the Museum, but as it dates from 1948, it is one of the oldest railway museums around and I wish them well in theis new century.

I know they also recently posted a list of deaccessions of their non-traction collection, concentrating instead on preserving the priceless pieces they do have of traction equipment, including two of my faves: a DSR Peter Witt (one of two in existance), and the only surviving Columbus, Delaware and Marion car, operating (hopefully again some day) on CD&M R of W.
