I'm trying to help out a fellow modeller who is painting a 3776 class northern, and he can't find a picture of the tender top or the tender rear. The only thing I've found on the internet were pictures of 2900's (preserved) most of which have lost their original lettering. I've seen the shot of 2925 and 5021 in the Belen roundhouse, but I can't read the lettering. In a similar vein, I was looking in Iron Horses of the Santa Fe trail, and there is a good shot of the rear of 3115 ( mikado). The lettering reads 4031 G.O. S.645 12000 G.W. I understand the G.O. is gallons of oil, the G.W. is Gallons of water, but what does S.645 refer to? If the 3776 class were lettered the same it would be 7000G.O. and 25000 G.W. but is the S.645 present too? Have a look at this shot below (apologies to Evan, but we're doing research) ![]() |

If you haven't tried already, someone on the Santa Fe Yahoo group may be able to help you, as they have me in the past. http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/S ... =111348323 You might also try looking through the Otto Perry collection at the Denver Public Library site. Lots of Santa Fe stuff there. Mostly 3/4 frontal views, but you might find something. Good luck. http://photoswest.org/perrycat.htm |
