I realize there are many problems with steam heat, but I hope these connectors are not destroyed needlessly, as I have seen in the past. Passenger cars and passenger engines really aren't fully restored without them, even if they are just ornamental items. To reproduce such items from scratch would be very expensive.

A familiar name might still be a source...

Spence Engineering (yes, as in Paulsen) is still in business selling steam fittings and appliances. It might be worth looking at their website and catalog:
