Post subject:  The Scotty engine

Santa Fe 2-6-2 1010, the last remaining locomotive that pulled the Walter Scott special from LA to Chicago in record time. Rebuilt after the famous run, it later had smaller drive wheels and other changes. Not sure where or when this photo taken, looks pretty tired but has the old style cowcatcher applied for the 1954 Death Valley Days filming of the Death Valley Scotty story for TV.
It is now at Sacramento.
