Hi guys. Hope everyone is well. When the asbestos is removed from the jacketing of a locomotive to be restored, what material is used in place to re-insulate the boiler? Thanks for the info. Seth<br><br> upacific@copland.udel.edu |

Call one of your local refractories dealers and find out what is on the market. Explain your use, available space between the boiler and jacket. Let him know that the shell is around 400 degrees F. I am sure that you will find as many different products used as there are steam operators. Just pick what is best for you.<br> |
