A subject we dust off from time to time. I caught Two Mules for Sister Sara with Clint Eastwood and Shirley MacLane the other night. There was a dynamited trestle/ train wreck scene with what looked like a Mexican narrow gauge engine and train. Couldn't really tell if it was a model, but it looked real. Damage to the engine didn't look too bad. Movie was made in 1969 so they could have sacrificed a real one. Was it real? Was the engine salvaged?[/b][/i] |

Though I can't remember the engine number (67, 267 or 269?), I believe the real NdeM 2-8-0 is still on display in Mexico and the one in the wreck scene is the mockup at Universal Studios in California. Would have to see the movie again for details. There is a Movie Railroads discussion group on Yahoo and someone at the Narrow Gauge Discussion Forum could probably help also. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/movietvra ... =111348323 |
