Post subject:  Burlington roundhouse aerial

Just an aerial photo map of the Vermont Railway's roundhouse and yard at Burlington, Vermont. An old Rutland Railroad facility, this is the main shop for Vermont Rail Systems, where they accomplish some impressive repairs and maintenance with not much equipment. Developers would love to get their hands on this prime piece of waterfront property, which has an incredible view of the Adirondacks across Lake Champlain, but recent progressive administrations in the city have preserved the waterfront for public space. VRS has hoped to build a new yard and shop south of Rutland, Vermont for some years. Should that ever happen, this site in Burlington would make a great rail museum.

Also, an aerial photo of VRS' other roundhouse (ex-Boston & Maine) at North Walpole, New Hampshire.
