I emailed Doyle asking what the new side panel material was and he replied "Bondo over Plywood". (actually, it's 1/8" steel) Reason I asked was because in the photos it looks like the white-finished Masonite stuff I bought at Home Depot a while back to throw up on my bathroom walls(!) It comes in 4x8 sheets for about $9 a sheet.

I don't know about you, but I don't care WHAT the critics are saying...he's doing one helluva job on that locomotive! Good work, Doyle!

A question for anyone involved with this project: is anyone shooting any video of the work being done? I too agree that this is a phenomenal effort.

Thanks,
Stephen

I don't beleve anyone has been doing video taping of the project, but it is being well documented, with many volunteers taking photograpghs. When ever I get down to Brooklyn Roundhouse to work on the SDP40F, I make sure to get inside the RH and get some photos of the 190, when I have free time.

As, for Doyle's response to davew833, everything at the Brooklyn Roundhouse has to have bondo on it somewhere. :)
