This is to thank all those who held off on inquiries during my recent bypass surgery (unexpected) and to notify you that inquiries and orders are being handled in the order received. AND a big thanks to Bob Kutella of IRM for notifying the RyPN readers that there would be a delay in answers. In the meantime, a lot of good things have happened, with additional volunteers working diligently on the monumental tasks on the collection. Despite ice storm, snow and wind we found a good day this week for my first official day back after two months, and orders are being processed, although expect a delay. In the meantime, the collection has the following continual improvements: Gradually increasing database on Pullman Palace car drawings back to 1889. Slight improvement in access to Haskell & Barker and PS freight car drawings (thanks, Eric Neubauer). Filing improvements to the standard passenger car collection. New windows on the second floor, funding provided by many orders over the past year. I am limited in my time once a week in answering your requests, and ernestly request your patience. (We filled four requests on Friday, with the help of my loving wife) Sincerely, |

Welcome back. Does the Pullman library also have Osgood Bradley's trolley records? |

With regard to the question about Osgood Bradley trolley records, the IRM Pullman Library contains drawing lists back to about 1910 for trolleys and passenger car equipment, including milk cars, baggage cars and gas electrics. For many of these, there are also official photographs from which we can supply a xerox copy and identification to notify E. B. Luce in Worcester, who may hold the original negatives. Over time, we have been organizing the drawings and filing them. Now it turns out that for much of the MBTA equipment including PCC's, those original tracings were sent to Boston. So I can supply a drawing list but not the drawings for those pieces of equipment. In the later years under Pullman Standard, there are also specifications in the file which include as well the NE-5 series of cabooses, and trackless trolleys (trolley coaches). In short, yes, we have many of the Osgood Bradley drawings for trolleys as well as some related materials. Send a request for a 2-page listing of materials in the library and price of copies to the address below: This may sound pecuniary but everything goes 100% toward copy costs, restoration and improvements to the library! |
