Tweetsie 4-6-0 12, taken last October. I believe it is entering its 50th year of operation at this site. Colors are a bit bright (not clear if the 12 ever was green in actual service, though sister 14 was) and lettering is for the amusement park rather than the ET&WNC, but it is quite clear that this locomotive is in very good hands! http://www.castlegraphics.com/graphic/t ... ct2004.jpg |

(not clear if the 12 ever was green in actual service, though sister 14 was) and lettering is for the amusement park rather than the ET&WNC She wore both green and black while on the ET&WNC, though I'm not enough of a Tweetsie expert to tell you the individual timeframes. I don't think her pilot was red, but I'm not sure. She was actually relettered ET&WNC for a while in the early 90's. |

Not quite 50 years, but close. The #12 began operating at Tweetsie in 1957 according to their website. I took my first ride in the early 1960's. While #12 may have been green at an earlier time, I believe the current shade is Tweetsie's own creation. Mike W. |

#12 will begin its 49th season at Tweetsie this year, and yes she was painted green from 1937-1942. #12 current green shade was picked by some ET&WNC oldtimers when she was re-lettered ET&WNC in 1992. The color is called Woodland Green. Up until then they were painted a shade of Southern Green. |
