Regarding Royal Hudson 2860, is there an e-mail address for BC Tourism Minister Ian Waddel? Although paper-and-envelope correspondence makes a better impression, my experience is that less than one in 100 people will sit down to write and mail a "real" letter when one is needed. The convenience of e-mail raises the ratio considerably, thus if Ian Waddel can be reached thus, it would benefit the locomotive.
It might also help if you tell him you've ridden the train (assuming that you HAVE) and/or want to ride it in the future.
Those letters tend to carry much more weight than letters that simply nag him to keep it running. If you have ridden or are going to ride it, you are a customer. If you haven't, you are not, though you might be a potential customer.
A railroad I am very familair with gets a lot of letters from people who have never, in several decades of steam operations, ever, set foot on one of their trains and who have no intention of ever doing so. Obviously, those letters don't make nearly as much of an impression as do letters from people who have ridden and say they will again.
