It appears they scrapped some diesels also, as seen in this 1975 photo:

Built NBL (27852/1959). Power unit NBL/MAN L12V18/21, 1100hp (later derated to 1000hp). Weight 73 tons, max speed 75mph. Withdrawn December 1971. Scrapped June 1980.

basically one of the less than successful early BR diesel classes.
