Hi Friends,

I know at least 3 of the Interchange regulars will either be manning tables or buying toy choos choos at the big Springfield, MA railroad show in two weeks.

Any interest in picking a time and place Saturday Jan 29th during the show to gather 'round and say "Hi?"

Rob

Yes. Saturday is better than Sunday. Tell us where and when.

I know that getting space at this show isn't easy, and there may be a waiting list, but don't you think it would behoove RYPN to rent a booth or table at important shows like this to give it more than an ethereal presence? Many railroad people are unaware of preservation projects, other than their own, as well as the hows and whys of preservation.
If RYPN were to sponsor events or anything else to become more "physical," we may get better updates from all parts of the globe. It would also make finding one another at a show a bit easier.
Just a thought.

I understand space is quite expensive and the waiting list is pretty long. Perhaps there can be a collection taken up by us posters and the table could be staffed by some of us who live in the area. Might take a while but could be a good idea.

Any of you RyPNers attending the "Big E" show are invited to stop by RMNE's display in the main building. Many of our active volunteers will be there to answer questions and show what we have been doing. We have been a part of the Amherst show for almost 15 years, and it is a "not-to-be-missed" event for those of us in New England. Please stop by and introduce yourself!

FEBT (Friends of the EBT RR) have been on the waiting list for the last two years, no joy in sight...

I will be there all day Saturday, coming up via chartered bus from Long Island.

I'm an occasional poster. but I'd be interested in meeting any RYPN'ers who are at the show.

I'll be working the Anthracite Railroads Historical Society's tables over in the Young Bldg.

Let me know the time and place.

Well, I'm back. I didn't get the total amount of guests who showed at the Big E for the RR show, but I had a great time, and liked the contacts with people, especially those interested in Steamtown's RailCamp with the NRHS. The Friends of EBT did have a booth, along with several tourist lines, museums, restoration projects, to breakup the constant sales rhythm. I believe there were more model layouts at the show than last year. The mild weather made for a good mix of people. I never made a "formal" meet up with RYPNers, but saw a few who I know post here frequently.

Just as a quick follow up the total ticketed attendance was 16,953. That number does not include the under 5 crowd or the vendors. Would like to hear comments from others who were there.
