Maybe it won't work out. But maybe seeing if it does will be the best adventure ever.

This question came up last October 24th. Just search for "leaf springs" in the search page.

Landrum has been used by Stone Mountain Park for their 4-4-0's(complete new spring sets), Six Flags for their 4-4-0's(complete new spring sets) and by myself for individual leafs in the repair of a 1937 davenport spring pack. These guys are familiar with building locomotive springs, alignment buttons and shrunk on bands are not a chalenge for them.

Interesting you should ask -- I posted a similar question a couple months ago. SCRM's SOU diner #3157 (Pullman 1924) has a couple busted leaf springs, which has taken the car out of service until we can find replacements. We've got a quote from a company in Portland, OR (I think it's called Bender or something similar). Our local WABCO guys are looking around for us, too -- we should be hearing from them in a week or so. What they tell us will determine if we go with the Portland company or someone else.

It's been a struggle finding those springs -- thanks to the helpful folks here, we've got some leads finally.

We used Stanley Springs for one of the 91's tender trucks.

Try Dendoff Springs in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada. They have made leaf springs for the Northwest Railway Museum as well as for several steam locomotives, I think for the CPR 2816 but not sure.

Dear Kelly: We just installed a set from Dendoff, they look nice, but the 97 hasn't gone anywhere with them yet. I also got a quote from Beall Manufacturing near St. Louis, MO. Their price was a bit better, but Dendoff seemed more interested in the job. J.David
