Just got word that Jeff claims the 18 is sold, it may stay in McCloud for a year, but it is going to Carson City, NV (at least that's what my "insider" told me). A sad day for the McCloud. Not as sad, I fear as future days may be, with a dwindling shipper base and the high prices for steel. . . . . S' David D. |

Perhaps motive power for the V&T restoration? Can't see why the NSRM would want her...I hear she was quite a showpiece in San Francisco in 1915... What is the status of the actual railroad itself? I heard something floating around it had been sold; I just never heard as to who, and what the plans were.[/quote] |

The railroad is for sale, hard to say what the future is for the railroad and the Dinner train, and the 25, still waiting for flues. Shippers are becoming scarce, and metal prices are up, so it doesn't look good. The run today was posted as the last excursion over the line towards Hambone, and may be the last one towards Burney, but only time will tell on that one. The water tank at Bartle is looking really sad, It's still fixable, but not for long. S' David D. |
