Lots of information on individual Harvey Houses here. Aside from the one in Florence, Kansas, which puts on special dinners by reservation, are there any Harvey Houses that have been restored as eating establishments, with appropriately costumed waitresses? If not, any plans to do so?

I do not know about costumes but for several years the one in Slayton, TX has been the subject of much restoration work and includes a rail museum with equipment alongside. Some grant money, and still donations needed.

Bob,

It seems to me that one of the natural places would be the Grand Canyon Railroad.

I don't know if there was an actual Harvey House there but it seems to me that it might be something worth looking into as another possible draw for the railroad.

I would like to visit there sometime as they have restored some very nice engines for the trip to the Grand Canyon.

LAUPT is available only for special occasions, last time I believe was for the DNC in 2001.
