I know Bob would find this interesting, here is a link to a list of the fate and location of the surviving Bulleid pacifics.

For those of you who don't know, Bulleid designed rather unique 4-6-2s for the Southern (UK) railway. The locomotives were known for their unique streamlining, often referred to as "Spam Cans" and for their chain driven valve gear. After nationalization, many were rebuilt into a more conventional form, loosing their casing and unique but troublesome valve gear.

Wow! What a fantastic resource. How did we ever live without the internet?
