There is a sign in the picture referring to furniture and the name George W. Flowers. According to an obituary uncovered in a Google search, a Mr. George W. Flowers II recently died in Rochester NH, having grown up in Dover NH, and having been associated with the family-run Flowers Furniture Store for many years. The only confusing thing is that the late Mr. Flowers would have been at most 16 in the 1950's. Perhaps his grandfather was George W. Flowers I, as George II's father was Frederick. At any rate, it seems likely that the picture was taken in either Dover NH or Rochester NH. -John |

I think Mr. John E. McNamara is correct. Ettiquitte books say that "II" Is used instead of Jr. when your namesake is an ancestor other than your parent. |
