Post subject:  The Wilmington & Western is Back!

I am happy to report that the Wilmington & Western ran their first train up the line to Mt. Cuba, DE on Friday, 11/24 using 0-6-0 No. 58 and several DL&W steel coaches. It marked the resumption of regular service since a hurricane shutdown the railroad in September 1999. Both bridges are now completed and the lower four miles of the railroad is back in service, and running "Santa Claus" trains through December. Historic Red Clay Valley did a tremendous job and was fully committed to making all of this happen...a true "back from the dead" story all railway museums can learn from!<br>
