View inside the former Canadian Pacific John Street Roundhouse in Toronto in 2003. Part of this structure was demolished to build the new sports stadium nearby, then rebuilt. A brew pub occupies a portion, and there are eventual plans to create a rail museum here. In steam days, the roundhouse serviced mostly passenger power, maintained to CP's white glove standards. http://abpr.railfan.net/abprphoto.cgi?d ... v16-19.jpg |

Slight correction Bob. Part of the structure was demolished for the construction of the convention centre, then rebuilt on top of it. SkyDome is about a hundred yards to the north west of the roundhouse. It was built right on top of where CN's Spadina Roundhouse used to be. |

As per John Street Roundhouse, yes, the car repair shops were demolished, the the roundhouse its self, remains intacked. Several stalls on the southside of the building are now used by a brewing company, while the stalls on the north side of the building, contain streetcars and locomotives, pending a possible railway museum. On the west side of the building, the Toronto Terminal Railway's, "Cabin D" interlocking tower, has been relocated from its former location, in the middle of the CN/CP junction, just to the west of Bathurst Street. |
