Rick, I'm sorry you didn't find any of the information that you were looking for. Did you go to RockIsland905.com? The city owns it. It's only a cosmetic restoration, etc. If you emailed me at President905@cableone.net or mjs1080@cableone.net, I don't remember receiving them.
But I would like to fix any problems that with the website.
The site is there for 2 purposes and since the donations through the website have only numbered 4 for $120 total, the main purpose has to be information dissemination.
But......I did just go to the website and cannot easily find out who owns the locomotive just by looking at the website. It is the City of Duncan. It is going to be moved about 200 ft and put in a display with a 1 to 1 replica of our original station. Eventually, it will be covered.
Run again? no time soon. It's hard enough raising the amount for the cosmetic restoration.

I pulled the 905 post because as Brian pointed out it had no relevant information for their request for donations. But, they are for real and you can visit their website at the link below. Save the 905 hkading@rypn.org

I sent an email to the address on the website asking for some more detailed information. They ask for donations, but don't say who owns the locomotive, what they plan to do with it, where it is located at, or even what the thing is. I sure hope they do not plan to restore it to operating condition. A good quality cosmetic restoration and an enginehouse replica structure to house the locomotive in would be in this old girls best interests. Or at least get rid of those trees hanging over the locomotive. Talk about prime conditions for rust and rot.<p>Just my two cents.<br>

I don't know...she's better than many I've seen, and worse than a few. If the committee is looking at operation, they better find deep pockets, but owing to the nature of steam locomotive structure, just about anything is rebuildable with enough effort. I agree that the trees need to come down, or be cut back. Anything to deter vandals is a necessity. Someday, I'd like to see a psychological study on on the need of people to destroy steam locomotive cabs. Very strange behavior.<p>My two cents as well. <br> glueck @saturn.caps.maine.edu

" More than likely the real reason is a dead clock battery in a computer somewhere. The only true way of knowing the send date (which is pretty immaterial from my point of view) would be to review the e-mail headers of the received copy.
