No, not just a diesel.. part of the story of steam is its demise and the bigger part of that story is the demise of the steam makers. Ironically, Baldwin SHOULD HAVE survived at least as a maker of other industrial products. There's all kinds of stories to tell...

I wish I had the bucks for these locos and a place to store 'em...I'd really love to have 'em burbling next to a a (working) 26 @ steamtown to contrast the basic switcher of the 20's and one of the 50's.. oh well...

Which of the 6cyl dezuls or dezul electric on the list at the link referenced IS NOT a dezul?

All are diesels of course but you implied a certain dismissiveness about their value for preservation. Any Baldwin should be saved at this point.
