One of the V&T engines dress as CP 60, at the SP Sacramento Shops. Not sure which engine, perhaps No. 12, which now belongs to CSRM, as does the erecting shop. Probably 1969?

This photo is very interesting. Take at look at the uniformity of both the concrete on the platform and the brick structure behind it. The photo is very uncluttered. Coupled with the unusual light, it almost looks like a photo of a very good model.

That would indeed be the #I2, "Genoa", in the Jupiter paint. The CSRM got her from Promontory Summit in the late 70s after I believe the O'Connor replicas had been delivered, if not 'on order'. "Genoa" steamed at the museum in this paint, and later with her number restored, at the CSRM's first phase (the Central Pacific passenger station replica) in Old Sacramento. When the 'Museum of Railroad History' opened up (Railfair '8I), "Genoa" was cosmetically-restored to her appearance as a wood-burner on the V&T on the old truss bridge. I believe Chris DeWitt of the NSRM did the work on her, as well as #I3 "Empire" for the CSRM. I can imagine (and have heard) she would be in fair mechanical shape, operating last I believe in I979.

As a side-note, the Sac. Shops is responsible for the construction of V&T #I8 "Dayton"; the last example of AJ Steven's 4-4-0 design. The first, CP #I73, has become a popular prototype for live steam modelers after Walt Disney basing his "Lilly Belle" on her, as well as the original 5/8-scale Disneyland locomotives (and their European counterparts, I understand).

Here's one of the postcard views of the "Genoa" under steam at the CSRM's replica passenger station in the late-70s; along with others.
