Post subject: | Procedures to Clean Up Running Gear |
To all of you steam people out there, I have a question. What is the best way to clean up the main and connecting rods on a steam loco. I have been using a wire wheel to shine them up, which, for the most part, works okay. Also, I have been coating the finished areas with a teflon-based lubricant to protect it after it is clean. Is there a better way to achieve this? I don't intend to remove the rods until late next year. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.<br> Rotarykiln@aol.com |
