Post subject:  Is there a standard angle for flared tenders?

I am currently building a 1/8th scale version of a 1906 Rogers Mogul.

I am building it from a photo I have of Morehead and North Fork #9 from the Volrath Collection taken in 1936.

The tender in the photo was a slope back tender but was converted to a full size tender with flared sides like some of the old narrow gauge engines that today exist today. Rio Grand #315 has similar features.

What is the angle of the flares? When I say flares, I mean the bend at the top of the tank to help hold the coal.

Just curious as I will be constructing this soon.

Thanks,

JD Johnson, Morehead and North Fork Railroad Historian
