Glad to see it's being moved in a non-destructive manner. I heard some awful rumors about the front and rear sets of drivers being removed from the boiler and everything moved separately! |

Someone please tell me they're not jacking on one of the brake hangers. It sure looks like it in one of the photos. What a monumental job, but if they can move big buildings, I guess anything is possible. |

UP 814 was moved in a similar manner a few years ago. I was on display at a park in Council Bluffs near the river. As part of the move they had to cross Interstate Hwy 29. I beleive they made the move at night to reduce traffic delays. The interstate was built after the 814 was put on display. It will be interesting to get home after the move of 4023 and see her at the new home. Aaron Zorko |

Don, it looks like they jacked on multiple brake hangers. That has the possiblility to not be good. |
