Hi, The rumor mill has been in full-tilt here in NJ. Friday I heard that the NJ Museum of Transportation (that's the narrow gauge Allaire guys, not the state museum folks) had acquired former Bath & Hammondsport 2-6-0 #11 from the Middletown & New Jersey. That makes sense, since there was always a kinship there. The rumor-monger went on to say that the engine will be restored and operated on mainline excursions around NJ. Not sure what kind of main line running you'll get from a little 2-6-0. Anyone have any definitive word on #11? Rob Davis |

I can assure you that NJMT (yes the narrow gauge museum that really has something to show for our efforts unlike the state one) has not gotten ownership of the #11. We have our hands full with the narrow gauge equipment we have. The #11 is still in Middletown. There has been talk of the engine leaving the M&NJ but it wont go to us. This is all the information that I can give out right now. If I find anything else out I will let you all know. -Eric |
