We are in the begining stages of looking at the possiblity of using an R.D.C. car. We don't need one that is operable, Just transportable. We will entertain any options. Is there anything out there? Preferablly in the eastern U.S. Contact me on this forum or back channel. Thanks in advance.

There is a former Lehigh Valley RDC in Canada that is in desperate need of preservation.
its in New Bruswick, up near Maine.
probably too far away but I thought I would mention it anyway!
I keep hoping someone can save it..

Green Mountain Railroad has two RDC's available--they are stored at Bellows Falls, Vermont. Reportedly, it would be possible to make one operable car out of the two.

In 1990, Via Rail decided that it wanted to get rid of 45% of its network. Almost all the routes which were cut, used RDC's. Via Rail has sold a large number of units to IRSI in Moncton, New Brunswick. IRSI in rebuilding the units for future use. Rumour has it several will go to Dallas, for their commuter service. At present, Via Rail still operates RDC's on runs in Northern Ontario and on Vancouver Island.

If you want to start from the begining, the Self Propelled Vehicle 2000 shells that Budd built on speculation for stock are at Metrochon[sp?] Industries near the Wilmington, Del. Amtrak station.
N.Y. M.T.A. and Conn. D.O.T. may have some finnished copies; VIA Rail Canada, Va. Rwy. Express, and Canadien Ntional Rwys. (ex-B.C.RR.) may have some old R.D.C.s.
