There was a town in the upper midwest that was thinking about pushing a steam locomotive into a hole due to asbestos.

I assume nothing has been scrapped at Jim Thorpe.

There was an 0-4-0T sold on ebay about 2 years ago.

Is Stewartstown still with us?

It is my understanding that Stewartstown RR wants to try and operate Easter trips the last two weekends of this month.

I read about recent news on this- danged if I remember where now! From what I can recall clearer heads have prevailed and things are progressing on a cosmetic restoration I hope?

If I'm not mistaken this was in North Dakota & I think the National Guard got involved in the asbestos removal.................................Wooly

The locomotive in question is Soo Line 4-6-2 #735 at Minot, ND, I believe.

...And qualified personel from the local Air Force Reserve unit did indeed do the asbestos abatement.

the tourist operation in Biddeford Maine that has a restaurant that looked like a Great Northern Station and a loop of 2 foot gauge track near teh building?

I think there was a connection with the Seashore Trolley Museum but nothing electric about the site as far as I can see.

What happened to the standard gauge EBT locomotive thatwas in Indiana or someplace like that? I think it was a 0-6-0 switcher.
