I'm guessing that this is just a stone-lined turntable pit, not a complete turntable? Others have been unearthed at Burlington, Vermont and Santa Fe, NM, but either covered back over or built over. There used to be half of a stone turntable pit visible beside a building on Main Street in Keene, NH also (building covered the other half), but it may have been built over by now. In Folsom, California they found such a pit also, and constructed a wooden turntable replica there, presently sitting in the middle of an asphalt parking lot..

My stepfather, a former B&M employee, tells me that the turntable in Stoneham, MA was buried and is still there.
