Reading through the posts of rebuilding MILW 265 on another group the mention of other preserved MILW steam engines came up. One site claims only 261 and 265. I fount that hard to believe.
Wikipedia has an all time loco roster that lists hundreds of locomotives built, only two remain????

Also a Ten-Wheeler in Austin, Minnesota and an 0-6-0 in Evansville, Indiana. I think an early 4-4-0 (later sold to another railroad) also exists somewhere south, perhaps in Texas.

Actually the 4-4-0 exists as the earliest MILW locomotive preserved. It was restored by J. David Conrad in the 2000's and is displayed at the Union Plaza Transit Terminal in El Paso, Texas. Built by Breese, Kneeland & Co in 1857, s/n73, it passed down to the El Paso South Western and has been on display for a long time.

P.S. I had forgotten about the little 0-4-0T on display in Montana. And there's still that rumor about the MILW engine in the Wabash River at Terre Haute!

steamloco needs updating then, my search on the milwaukee road didnt show that but the EP&SW did, so we add another steamer to it..
