The cosmetic restoration of MStL 457 is well under way at Mason City. It appears to me that those folks are doing a first class job. And best of all, it seems that the city of Mason city is solidly behind them. |

If any of the group visits here, we'd like to know what's going on. If they're doing it properly, they could be an inspiration to others. Glad to hear it is getting some attention, provided they don't blast grit into bearings or try to roll it without proper journal preparation. |

Don't worry. They have some pretty good direction. As I understand it, many of the group are not railfans, but folks in the town that have some skills and want to help. They don't do anything until it's thoroughly reshearched.. |
