| Post subject: | Strasburg Shout-Out |
Hi Friends, Normally, I would send a message like this in an e-mail to the parties, but it seems like a good one to share with all. I took my alomst 2.5 year old son to Strasburg for Good Friday. We had a blast. Between the rail road and the state museum, he put his budding understanding of railroad to good work. We rode the parlor car Marian, which is a true work of art. The people at Strasburg never fail to impress, but on this trip in particular the two fellows running the Cagney and the gent in charge of the "crank cars" deserve acknowledgement for showmanship and pride of work. They really put it on for the kids (and the big kids). At the museum, we experienced much of the same. The model railroad room is exceptional for kids. The only complaint I have is that my son was signalling one of the steam engines to back a cut of cars to "couples" up to the cabin car, and nothing moved. ;-) What a special place! Rob PS: and for the adults, #89 made an appearance getting ready for the season, while #31 hauled the train. The GE and the gas critter were shunting about as well. |
