Here is a more complete obituary of Robert Barbera from the VRS-Rutland list. Barbera headed up Steamtown operations in the 1970s. His father Andy, a retired DL&W veteran, was an engineer there during the same period:

March 31, 2005

SPRINGFIELD — Robert A. Barbera Sr., 81, died March 28, 2005, at
Springfield Hospital in Springfield, Vt.

He was born March 2, 1924, in Brooklyn, N.Y., the son of Anthony and
Marie (Anatola) Barbera.

He graduated from Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute in 1946 with a
bachelor's of science degree in mechanical engineering, earning high
honors. He was a member of the Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity and an avid
member of the New York Downtown Athletic Club. He also attended
Columbia University, enrolling in graduate courses in business.

As a resident of Reading, Mass., he worked for Bell Labs as a
registered professional engineer and chief engineer. He was also a
consultant for Fairchild Camera and Instrument Corp. in Syosset, N.Y.
He served as a Scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts of America from 1955 to
1958.

On Nov. 23, 1974, he married Judith H. (Karmen) in Bellows Falls.

He became director of the Steamtown Foundation in Bellows Falls in
1974. He taught business courses at local colleges and worked for many
years as a personal investment adviser. He was a member of St. Mary's
Church in Springfield, and was a fourth-degree member of the Sullivan
Council Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include his wife of Springfield; a son, Robert Barbera Jr.
of Albuquerque, N.M.; and two cousins.

There will be no visiting hours.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's
Church with the Rev. Peter Williams, pastor, officiating.

A private family burial will take place at a later date in St. Mary's
Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Church, 40 Summer
St., Springfield VT 05156.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Davis Memorial Chapel.
