Y'all, we're gathering details now on the 2001 Assocation of Railway Museums, Tourist Railway Association Inc., annual meeting which will be in Spencer/Salisbury Nov. 6-11.

I post this just as a reminder so that everyone who is mapping out their line's budget for the coming fiscal year can include the trip. We expect to have registration packets in the mail around Memorial Day.

To use the tired phrase, "there's something for everyone," I nevertheless, offer this bit of data:
The conference will include field trips to Great Smoky Mountains Railway (a line haul, high volume tourist operator); Tweetsie Railroad (a contract shop in addition to a narrow gauge line); Charlotte Trolley (for you folks of the trolley persuasion), Carolinas Historic Aviation Museum (to see what life is like for the airplane folks);
a ride on NCDOT's train, the Piedmont, field schools, seminars, annual banquet, and of course, a full day at NCTM to visit, ride, take in the day etc.

Send me your qustions and suggestions. Jim Wrinn.
