 Post subject: Abandoned narrow gauge track

Left from when the Huckleberry RR in Michigan used to run farther out than it does now. Looks like the track is still intact:

If mempry serves they lost about 1 and 1/2 miles when the loop was relocated. It was a management decision based on a need to shorten the length of time required to ride that railroad. My question has been why not just have but some money into the existing track increase the speed a bit rather than build another baloon loop? But oh well.

It is actually more like 2 1/2 miles. And the point you make was brought up to the parks management. In fact, the argument was made quite forcefully by my predecessor, but to no avail. It was all I could do to convince the Director to 'Railbank' the old loop. The only track that was removed was that within the new loop. If we ever get the go ahead to revive this line we can make a connection off the north side of the new loop.
