Does anyone have an accurate figure of the value of BTUs for used motor car sump oil that was previously used on steam locomotives for fuel? brucesaund@ozemail.com.au |

That'd be around 130,000BTUs per gal. I am sure that this figure will bounce a little either way depending on what type or trash is still in it. This figure is a little above number 2 diesel which is around 138,500 and home heating oil listed at 140,000. Number 5 heating oil is listed at 148,500. |

This figure is a little above number 2 diesel which is around 138,500 Sorry, little error, I ment that the 130,000 was a little "below" number 2 diesel. |
