Today in St. Louis was what they would call "Chamber of Commerce Weather." Temprature in the 70s, sunny, no humidity, and a geat day to visit the Museum of Transportation.

... at least in Scranton, PA. We had perfect weather lately, too, and with the beginning of the steam season at Steamtown NHS, we gave a very large attendance a chance to experience early spring railroading, which Trains Magazine (May, 2005 gallery section)called the toughest season to photograph. (It's too short, timewise, for those who didn't see the gallery).
Canadian National 2-8-2 no. 3254 led the trains.

How is the '54 doing?

I had to wait for the engine to run again before I gave an answer. I really wasn't paying close attention on Sunday. The 3254 ran like a dream today. I heard no unusual noises, which is good after all the adjustments made last year. When the excursions begin, in late May, we'll get a better idea, since the track repairs of last summer are over. I'm still not able to tell when the train bounces around so much, if it is the coach, the track or the locomotive, or even all three.
