Post subject:  Press Release: NKP 765

The 765 is nearing the end of an extensive and arduous rebuild--a complete, in house restoration that has effectively kept the steam from her cylinders for roughly twelve years.

In anticipation for her return to active service, the Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society is asking for YOUR help to chronicle the locomotive’s past excursion career for publication.

The 765 has traveled over 50,000 miles in the Eastern United States and we know there are hundreds of rail fans, volunteer workers, and photographers who would be able to contribute.

We are looking for:

-Unique, dramatic, presentable photographs of the 765, rolling stock, engine crew, passengers, etc…

-Personal stories and accounts of trips, experiences, and encounters with the engine…

AND

-photographs or insight concerning existing Nickel Plate locomotives (759 or Mikado 587, for example)

Please pass on this post, link it to your friends, and spread the word, including all contact information as posted below.

Help preserve this locomotive’s history and support her future!
