WW&F Ry Museum New Rolling Stock

Thanks to an anonymous donor, the WW&F Ry Museum has acquired Edaville coach #26 along with open air excursion car #202. Many thanks to Edaville USA's Brenda Johnson and Rob Julian for their personal efforts in helping to make this happen.

Those look like standard gauge trucks under the open car? Are they? They also appear to have roller bearings?

I believe the roller bearing trucks under the open car are staying at Edaville. They match the trucks which are in service under most (if not all) of the current Edaville roster of equipment.

I am sure those cars will be a useful addition to the museum tracks.

But there are still three antique cars at Edaville ,USA. Will they be selling any of those? If I recall one is coach 21, a Sandy River Car?

Yes, the 21 was still there as of last season...I had the pleasure of enjoying a ride behind the Hudswell in it. A fine old car.

Is the #26 an original? Also will the WW&F repaint them into WW&F paint? It looks like a nice car but the paint job isnt to die for. Also when will these cars be on the railroad?

Hi Eric,

I think I can answer two of your questions and take a stab at the third.

Coach #26 is not an original; it was build by Edaville. I'm sure that it will get repainted to WW&F colors (dark green). As for the arrival date, I expect that these two cars will be on the grounds within a month. Exactly when coach #26 will go into service depends upon whether we need to do any work on it.

P.S. I never did like the yellow green and red paint sceam of Edaville.

Eric,

I have a roster of everything that was ever at Edaville. I find that that car #26, was built at the Edaville Shops in 1986. but is has a hard life having been in a fire on 6/21/ 1986. it had been rebuilt by 1988.

Colors can change with owners but I hope they at WW&F keep the number.

Did these two cars belong to the Maine Narrow Gauge Museum in Portland?

I have in my notes the Museum bought them in 1994, but never transferred them to Portland. Do not have a reference of where I obtained the information, so would like to confirm if I have my facts correct.
