I'm looking for mechanical drawings for Climax locomotives in preparation for the rebuilding of the Climax at Roaring Camp (C/N 1692). Any one know where I can find them?

Hi Tom;

Try Puffing Billy in Australia. They have the only Climax I have ever ridden that didn't try to throw me from the cab, wood fired and it puffs smoke rings.

Hi Tom, Glad to hear things are moving on the Climax.

The Corry Area Historical Society has a collection of original plans and other information on the Climax locomotives. As you may all know they were built in Corry by the Climax Manufacturing Company. Their last living employee, Walt Cassler, left his collection to the museum before he died. Also John Lewis of Jarrettsville, MD has left extensive collections of plans. they can be contacted at 945 Mead Aveneu, Corry, PA 16407. Phone 814-664-4749.

The page referenced below has a list of Climax drawings published over the years. Not sure how much use they'd be to you but it can't hurt to check it out.
