Folks,

Looks like I leave tomorrow for two weeks with the in-laws in Prescott, Arizona. We're within easy day-trip of the Grand Canyon RR (I hear there's some hole at one end I oughta see) and the Verde Canyon RR; I may get to do Chandler's museum as well.

Are there any readers of this forum that want to offer tips, tricks, tours, or other courtesies to this RyPN poster? I'm talking of ignoring the supposed "Wild West Shootout" that precedes the GCRY trip in favor of, say, a shop tour, riding the loco cab, talking parts trading/rolling stock procurement/etc.? Any must-see hidden gems? (I've seen Prescott's steamer and Flagstaff's pair, and the mine lokies in the ghost town of Metcalf are just too far away.)

My e-mail contact is below.

My brothers-in-law are Jeep Cherokee collectors and members of the Yavapai County search-and-rescue, so if you see a Jeep in a very inaccessible location surrounded by photographers, wave back.

On your way to Verde Canyon, stop in the town of Jerome.
