Fred H. Hallock died late Thursday, May 5, after a month-long hospital stay. He was 81.

Fred was originally from Conneticut, where he volunteered with the Branford Trolley Museum. He moved to Columbia, SC in the middle 1990s and soon became active with The South Carolina Railroad Museum as an engineer, conductor, and the Museum's Treasurer. He was active at the Museum literally until the day he went into the hospital, attending a work session the day before and doing some "Treasurer stuff" the morning he took ill.

Was he any relation to Donald Hallock, one of the early participants at Strasburg, who later started the Wolfeboro RR in New Hampshire?
