...that the RyPN interchange is such an informative, thought-provoking and very civil forum. A big thanks is in order to the moderators for putting in the time to run such a class act. I've never been a big visitor to the Chaski Railfan site (never even posted there), and after seeing so many of the recent postings degenerate into profane name-calling and insults, I won't be visiting anymore. Again, a big thanks to everyone involved in all aspects of RyPN. It's a privilege to be able to participate.

I agree, the Interchange has always been well-run and fairly-moderated. My hats off to everyone involved.

Sorry if I am beating Bob, Erik, Randy, or Hume to the punch here, but...

Yes, we should all give thanks to the editors, staff members, and contributors who help make RYPN an informative place to discuss railway preservation. Of course, RYPN is free, to you the user. There are associated costs with running an operation like RYPN, and I am sure they would enjoy your contribution.

Yes, I know this sounds like you are listening to a pledge drive on PBS or NPR, but I think it is important to keep this site going. I'm still waiting to get the RYPN totebag.

Yes, I'll be sending in a check, soon.

Couriosity got the best of me and I went exploring other sites and all I can Say is THANK YOU,THANK YOU,THANK YOU.
This site has been my morning coffee, after work check in and source of alot of information for longer than I can remember. Everyone of the people I've met in person from here have been great. I have great offline conversations with people here as well as some once in a lifetime events occour due to this site.
It's nice to know I made the right choice in picking this site.
Thanks again for everyone who makes this site such a great place! If I can ever be of help please ask. I've always posted under my real name and e-mail so I'm not hard to get ahold of.
One more time, THANKS EVERYONE!!!!!!
(Please forgive my spelling)

I have been in some spirited arguments over here but never have I felt I needed to bring in a squad or two of MPs to restore order. The same issue that seems to have precipitated the meltdown over there has been discussed over here without anywhere near the animosity or the adolescent level of personal attack. Excellent work gentlemen. Keep it up, please.

Well shucks, ya'll are very kind.

Personally I would like to thank the readers first, for making our lives pretty easy by using this board in the spirit in which it was intended--for the friendly exchange of information, not for dispute and argument for their own sake.

Second, I want to thank Ed and Randy. Four years as solo moderator had worn me down--by stepping in to help, Ed and Randy have kept this place alive and worthwhile at a time when I no longer had the same time and energy to put into it. Three heads are better than one.

WOW! I never even knew that site was there. I just went and looked at it and I can truly say what a **** mess! Sorry for the **** but thats the best thing I could think off. I have seen some bad arguments here on RYPN and on NGDG (which a few I have been in) but none of them even add up to what I have read on that web site. I thank the moderators and everyone who posts here for keeping it clean and for making this a very educational web site!

In Chaski's defense, it wasn't nearly that bad until very recently, I resigned as moderator and no one has stepped up to take my place, so its an unfortunate free-for-all. The limitations of the old software made it impossible to police correctly, the format of the Interchange is much better suited to this type of discussion.

I could tell but it is still ashame that people did that. Anyway lets not start an argument here by bring up the problems of other web sites on this one. Not saying anyone was.
