Post subject:  EL MU Cars in Columbus

I checked out that Erie Lackwanna MU car today that is on the east side of Columbus, and there are actually two cars there, not one. One is number 463, and stenciled on the side is "W&GR RR Olmsted Twp., OH". There was a phone number but I didn't get it, and also didn't get the number of the second car which is between two buildings. AS it was the middle of a workday I didn't want to go snooping too much, but if you want that number of the second car I could go back after hours and get it.

Both appear to still have pantographs and are in fairly good shape on the exterior, from my cursory inspection.

First of all, thanks, Rick! I think it's great that you took time to go and look for these cars. It sounds extremely interesting. Do you know whose property they're on? Whether they are owned by the property's owner or not, the owner would probably have a good idea of who does own them. If you can find a number in the phone book, I'd love the chance to waste my OWN time in trying to investigate this! :-)

Well, this should put to rest any preconceptions people have about whether electric cars can only be found on abandoned ROW's or in museums. Who knows where the next electric will turn up?

>Sounds like you encountered the two Lackawanna MU's that the Buckeye Trolley folks had for sale. Looks like they found a buyer.
