Does MTM have any plans to keep the U23Bs? One of them looks to be in reasonably good condition while the others are in salvagable condition with enough time and work. These are rare and historically significant engines (one is the first U23B made). If they aren't keeping one of them, it is because that it conflicts with museum's mission (presumably preverving Minesota RR artifacts)? If so, I can understand that, but why not paint as an NP unit like they did with "Soo 559". I do realize that MTM may also just be selling this equipment as an agent for another owner. I just hope they don't sell all of the equipment to people with torches in hand. terry_dempsey@hotmail.com |
